Our Lake Vacation




Last week we spent a week and half at the lake house. We did alot of things but the highlight of the week was when we went blueberry picking. We have finally found Riley's calling in life! She spent an hour in the beating sun picking only the bluest blueberries and wouldn't stop until her whole basket was full. This is the girl who hates the sun and won't go outside if its too sunny, but when I kept asking her if she wanted to rest and get something to drink she would say "I'm not hot, the sun's about to go down" as sweat was dripping down her face and it was 11:00 in the morning. You can tell she is really into something when she has this look on her face.

I can't believe the summer is almost over! I guess that's what happens when your child starts to be on the school calendar. Riley's last day of preschool was quite emotional as I cried all the way home after going to her end of the year party. Her teacher was so fabulous this year and at the party she read the book "The Oak inside the Acorn" by Max Lucado. Such a great book and most of the moms were crying by the end of it, but I fought through it until I got to the car! I know "Bubs" and "Haydes" (Riley's nicknames for Brady and Hayden) are going to miss having Riley around all day (and so will I), but here are some pics of our fun summer.
